Palmer Basketball frequently asked questions

• When does the season start?
  • We start evaluations around the first week of November.
  • Practices will start shortly after evaluations are completed and teams are formed.
• When do games start?
  • Games to start around the first week of December for 4th grade and up
  • 2nd and 3rd grade to start after the new year.
•  When does the season end?
  • Regular season to end around the first weekend in March
  • Playoff eligible teams and divisions to start March 4th – 10th tentatively.
• How often are practices?
  • Practice will be 1-2 times a week.
  • There are no set dates and times. Practice slots are rotated to allow for prime slots to be shared by all teams throughout the year.
• Uniform Jerseys are provided to borrow and to be returned at the end of the season. 
  • Uniform shorts will be provided to 6th Grade and lower levels.
  • 7th and up will be using personal shorts brought from home (black shorts to match tops)
• 2nd grade levels are an inhouse league partnering with Nazareth
  • 4 V 4, man to man defense, 8ft rims.
  • Great opportunity to learn the game
  • End of the season fun tournament!
• 3rd Grade levels are an inhouse league partnering with Nazareth
  • 5v5, man to man defense, 10 foot rims
  • More complex basketball with plays, defense ramped up to get ready for the next level.
  • End of the season fun tournament!
• Costs have increased due to EASD charging for gym space for practice use which was new in 2024.
• Practices will be held at Tracy Elementary, Cheston Elementary, Palmer Elementary, and Chrin Center
